European Outdoor Award Winner: SIDAS T-FREE TRAIL

Silver Winner In The Category Trailrunning

The SIDAS T-FREE TRAIL is a technical running sock recognised with the European Outdoor Award in the trail running category. Developed in collaboration with world-class athlete Jonathan Albon, it is built on a unique concept: only the big toe is separated from the rest of the foot, optimising biomechanics during running.

The core function lies in its T-Free® technology, which allows the big toe to move freely and independently, improving push-off, stability, and natural running stride. Instead of separating all the toes, as with toe-separating socks, only the big toe is separated. This makes the socks easier to put on and provides optimal cushioning.

What convinced the jury:

T-Free®: Big Toe Liberation:
By allowing the big toe to move freely and independently, push-off and stability on technical terrain are noticeably improved.

Anatomical Left/Right Construction:
In & Out technology (no cut threads inside) and an anatomical fit deliver a second-skin feel and reduce blister formation.

Athlete-Validated and Race-Proven:
Developed and tested with Jonathan Albon; podium finishes in 2025 at Ultra Trail Australia and Western States Endurance Run.

Jury Statement:

We appreciated how the T-Free Trail sock translates bio-mechanical research into a highly functional product for trail running. By freeing the big toe to move naturally, the design supports improved stability, comfort and propulsion in a simple yet effective way when it matters, for example on technical trails.
